After-School Activities

One of the things that makes Maidwell Hall Pre-Prep special and unique is our comprehensive programme of after-school activities. It is an important way in which we support working parents – providing exciting, fun and educational activities for children up to the end of the working day.

After the regular school day finishes at 15:30, our pupils can remain with us until 17:30 and enjoy a vast range of stimulating and enriching activities. It means busy parents can rest assured that their children are having fun, expanding their experiences and developing skills in a safe and caring environment – right until they are picked up at the end of the day.

The majority of our after-school provision is included in the fees. However, there are also a number of chargeable activities that are elective, such as Beaver Scouts and Squirrels, taekwondo, ballet and swimming.

Our after-school schedule is divided into a number of sessions, outlined below. Parents can choose which sessions their children attend.

*Parents can collect their child from the Pre-Prep at 15:30, 15:50, or from 16:30 to 17:15. Children can be collected at 17:30 from the Prep School.

15.30 - 15:50 : Snack and Mindfulness Time

Children staying for our after school programme enjoy a healthy snack and drink in the Pre-Prep, giving them an important boost of energy for the exciting activities ahead. The children will then enjoy a story or relaxation exercises to wind down from their busy school day.

15:50 - 16:30 : Activity Time

Children staying beyond 15:50 will participate in a number of fun activities, which you may sign your child up for at the beginning of each term.

There are a number of activities to choose from which are included in the school's fees. However, there are a small number of chargeable activities available, most of which are conducted by external providers.

16.30 - 17:15 : Second Pick Up and Late Club

Before the children go home, they can play outside in our Mini Wilderness or inside our Stay and Play classroom, which is dedicated to our after-school provision with different areas set up to aid creativity and fun. Parents can pick up their children at any point within this time slot.

17.30 : Prep School Pick Up

At 17.20 the Pre-Prep children are taken to the Prep School so that parents can collect their children outside the main entrance at 17.30.
