After School Provision & Pastoral Care
The Pre-Prep day is designed to provide flexible care arrangements for our children and deliver exciting opportunities for learning after school. The morning drop off begins at 8.15am, and the school day starts at 8.30am. Lessons finish at 3.15pm, and after this time we offer a full list of after school activities followed by wrap around care free of charge, if required, until 6pm.
A healthy snack and drink are provided at 4.30pm to give the children an energy boost, and our catering team can meet the needs of children with specific dietary requirements. Please also note that Pre-Prep is part of Maidwell’s boarding community, so parents can feel happy in the knowledge that the school is always open during term time, should there be a problem with collection.
Our Pre-Prep and Prep teaching staff offer a wide range of after school Activities, aimed to inspire every child. These change termly and include:
- Maypole Dancing
- Garden Explorers
- Crafty Cross Stitchers
- Ball Games
- Happy Historians
- Little Learners
Two specialist chargeable Activities, taught by staff at the Northamptonshire School of Dance, are also on offer:
- Ballet, with Miss Natalie
- Street Dance, with Miss Bette
All Pre-Prep staff are first aid trained and the children are also under the care of our fantastic School Nurse Mrs Cooper and a team of wonderful matrons. Our Senior Matron, Mrs Willis, organises school uniform, and sews name labels into every item of uniform, including socks! She also washes the children’s swimming kits and waterproof clothing, which makes daily outdoor play in muddy puddles possible!
