Forest School

Forest School

Set among ‘The Wilderness’ within our grounds is our Forest School. Here, children can explore the natural environment, develop practical skills, learn to solve problems, and discover the world around us.

Our specially trained and accredited Forest School leader delivers a whole range of lessons and activities in our beautiful woodland classroom area.  The Forest School Association promotes a child-centred, inspirational learning process that uses play, exploration and supported risk-taking to help children develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on experiences.

In their Forest School sessions, our pupils might learn to light a fire, build a den, use traditional tools, develop woodworking skills, or create arts and crafts from foraged objects. It is always a joy to witness our pupils venturing into our woodlands, learning to solve problems, make decisions and work as a team.

Working outdoors in our Forest School provides a stimulating and hands-on way for pupils to expand their knowledge, build practical and artistic skills, and develop an awareness and appreciation of the natural world.
