ADMISSIONS

Choosing the right school can be tricky; we all want the absolute best for our children.

VISITING MAIDWELL

Please come to visit us in the first instance to see how magical Maidwell is. Simply call or email the school office, and the admissions staff will be delighted to arrange a visit and send you a prospectus: 01604 686234 / admissions@maidwellhall.co.uk. This visit will include a tour of the School and provide an opportunity to meet our Headmaster and Head of Pre-Prep.

During the year there will also be two whole school Open Mornings, one in October and another in February. There will also be a special whole school Open Day in May.

REGISTERING YOUR INTEREST

The majority of our pupils join us in Reception, however children are able to join at any stage, depending on a place being available. When there is no availability in a year group, we operate a waiting list.

Parents who would like to register their child for next year’s Reception cohort are asked to do so at least a term before they begin.

To register your child, please complete our Registration Form and return it to admissions@maidwellhall.co.uk, together with the non-refundable administration fee of £100. Available places will then be reserved.

If you require any assistance with the admissions process and would like to enquire as to current availability, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

PUPIL ASSESSMENT AND CONFIRMING YOUR CHILD’S PLACE (UK BASED APPLICANTS)

(For Internationally based applicants, please contact admissions@maidwellhall.co.uk for further information on the admissions process)

Children with registered places in the Pre-Prep are then invited to attend a Taster Morning, when they will spend time getting to know their future class teacher, fellow classmates and classrooms. They will also experience a typical family style meal at lunchtime in the Great Hall. Informal assessments will be carried out during the course of the morning.

Children entering the Prep school are required to attend a Familiarisation Day. This is designed to provide the school with academic information about prospective pupils and to this end academic tests are sat as well as a brief interview with the Headmaster. The school welcomes a broad range of ability, and the entry requirements are based on an average IQ minimum. A strong learning support department enables the school to accept pupils with mild or moderate learning difficulties provided that other requirements are met. Familiarisation Days tend to run on Thursdays, commencing at 10am and finishing at 4.15pm and give the visiting child a wonderful breadth of experience of a typical Maidwell Hall day, including, though not limited to, lessons, a family style lunch and games.

Following the taster morning or Familiarisation Day a formal offer of a place is likely to be made and requires completion of an acceptance form and the placing of a £750 deposit to secure the place. This must be paid within 30 days of the offer being made and will be deducted from the first term’s school fees. Please note, we are unable to refund the deposit if your child does not take up their place at Maidwell.

Children with confirmed places will be invited to attend a Move Up Morning at the end of the Summer Term, when they will spend quality time with their new teacher and Maidwell friends.

During the term before a pupil joins us, new boarders in the prep school are invited for an overnight boarding trial.

We look forward to welcoming you.
