On January 24th we were fortunate to have a visit from Captain Elizabeth Hayward who works for the Salvation Army helping with overseas aid. She explained how difficult it can be to work overseas because you have to eat local food and live in quite difficult conditions. She also explained how the Salvation Army believes in training up local populations so that they can provide their own aid for natural disasters. Several boys had the chance to taste some unusual foods from other countries; not many of them tasted very good! |
