Snowdonia Sponsored Walk 2009

This year 12 boys and 11 fathers participated in the leavers' sponsored walk which took us to Snowdonia and a 32 mile circuitous route across 9 of the 'Three Thousanders'. The first day was moderately sunny although the clouds descended above 3,000 feet but the second day was absolutely dreadful. The rain was forecast to be torrential but despite this we battled on and amazingly we completed the planned route. The only change was to swap a wild campsite in the rain for the wonders of the Pen-y Gwryd Hotel. Our final day saw us ascend Snowden in rapid time. It had been a most challenging adventure and it was a significant achievement to have successfully completed it. We had climbed 9 mountains over 3,000 feet and our walk had been completed with all our kit carried on our backs. With the help of the sponsored cycle ride we managed to raise £38,500 for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance - amazing!
