About the School
We are an 8-13 boys’ boarding and day preparatory school founded in 1913 and established in its present location in 1933. As you will see from this website the school is situated in the midst of beautiful Northamptonshire countryside with magnificent grounds which enable the boys to enjoy a great sense of freedom.
Whilst we have grown in recent years we have sought to remain small enough to maintain the highly personalised approach that we consider to be so essential. The School currently numbers 107 boys of whom 104 are boarders. Whilst very well equipped in all respects and benefiting from a significant recent building programme a country house atmosphere prevails within the main 17th Century building.
We are very aware of the vital importance of these formative years in the life of a child and we take our responsibilities very seriously. First and foremost we want each boy’s experience of Maidwell Hall to be a thoroughly happy, enjoyable and fulfilling one.
Our aim is to encourage all children to discover their talents, to develop them to the full and to become interested in a wide range of different hobbies and activities. Equally we aim to encourage the development of spiritual and moral values and the Christian foundation of the school underpins all that we do.
