MAIDWELL HALL - Boarding and Day School for Boys aged 8-13

 South Africa Cricket Tour 2007

At the end of the Lent Term 14 boys and 18 supporters embarked on a cricket tour of South Africa. The tour began in Cape Town for 5 nights and then moved along the Garden Route to Knysna before returning to Cape Town. Five fixtures were played with Maidwell losing the first two (the team was rather rusty) and then winning the last three.

The tour involved visits to game parks, seal sanctuaries and an Ostrich Farm where the boys were allowed to ride these massive birds. A vivid memory was the match against the Langa Township where the game was played at its most basic level. The last match was played under floodlights with the white ball and coloured kit.
