Being many of the boys first game of hockey, the entire team was very excited for the match. It started off very well with the boys beginning positively and looking to pass the ball around. However, being many boys' first match it was never going to be easy as Maidwell defended for the majority of play until Oundle were finally able to score. As the half time whistle sounded Maidwell found themselves 2 goals down. The second half again began positively with some strong tackles from Harry Chetwode and brilliant passing from James Cleverly and Ben Clarke. The boys showed significant improvement in the second half, but were, however, outplayed by a more experience team with Oundle scoring once more in the second half to bring up the score-line above.
