v Stamford U14
Won 8-1 in matches and 24-9 in games.
This was a very tough fixture against a team of nine U14 boys. They all played well with Sam Boscawen and William Holborow going the 5-game distance. Our only loss came when Hugh Buxton took on their big 1st seed and although he lost, he made the other player work hard. We will have to raise our game next term as they will look to put out an even stronger team.
v Uppingham U14
Won 6-5
Although this was technically a win, it was very much a friendly competition. This was the first ever squash venture between the two schools requested by me due to our large Form I player base. It was also good to see Charlie Chamberlayne as part of the Uppingham team. They do not officially do squash as a competitive activity so for some, it was their first actual game. Still, it was an excellent afternoon and a privilige to play in Uppingham's brand new courts.

Ten boys travelled to Oakham and acquitted themselves very well and in many cases against older children. There were some good wins and some close losses. Ultimately, it is all good experience for the future.

Another new fixture in the calendar proved to be an exciting encounter and gave a number of boys their first opportunity to represent the school at squash.
All boys performed well and even those who lost their matches gave their all. Every boy also had the opportunity to play another opponent. However, the 10 year old Stoneygate no.1 gave us all a masterclass in how to dominate your opponent.

Squash v Summerfields
This was the first squash fixture between the two schools for 5 years and it was great to be able to go to another prep school for a change.
The Senior team won their matches 7-3 against a team including the Summerfields seeds 1 and 2, but sadly not numbers 3-5 due to other commitments.
Our Junior team comprised all five Form IV boys on their first fixture and they played a composite small group of boys from the school year above. They tried hard and we won a few of the games played, but mostly, they were too strong. Still, it has given these boys a taste of the game in a competitive environment.
Hopefully we will continue to revive this fixture next term when we can have a proper Senior and Colts fixture against corresponding seeds.
