Very talented boys are encouraged to participate at county level. Rugby tours are run every year (Ireland this year) and cricket tours to Antigua and South Africa.

Rugby is the major sport in the Autumn Term and rugby sevens is played in the Lent Term. Soccer is the major sport in the Lent Term and senior boys play Hockey in the second half of the Lent Term. Cricket is the main sport for most boys in the Summer but boys can also opt to play tennis and go sailing. Everyone does Athletics as well.

Minor Sports

We do both clay shooting and rifle shooting at competitive level (currently national prep school clay champions).

The Chance to be Involved

Widespread involvement in sport regardless of talent is an important feature of the school and the chance to be in teams. Wherever possible A, B and C teams are fielded in different age groups. There is also a vigorous tradition of house competitions. Once a year there is a whole school gymnastics display.
