  • Our inter-house competitions kicked off with a very sporting evening of House Golf. A glorious autumn evening, saw lots of very impressive driving although not all the putting was predictable. Something to practise over the coming months! Well done to the older, seasoned players who were very supportive of the younger players. A tight finish.... but Beech clinched first place, with Ash runner up. Golf can be played from Reception onwards at Maidwell, and is fast becoming one of our most popular clubs. We have inter house and inter school competitions throughout the year. #maidwellcommunity #maidwellhall

  • We are thrilled to, once again, be featured in the Tatler Schools Guide with a wonderfully glowing review: "....Founder Oliver Wyatt used to say that his charges were the sort who, when invited to stay for the weekend would be invited back. According to one recent visitor, this still holds true of the "exceptionally polite but chatty and smiling" youngsters." "....And the school is just as charming as its occupants: the mansion's original drawing room now houses an impressive library; the dorms, their common rooms and bathrooms have been redecorated and the classrooms have been relocated so that the overlook the picturesque gardens and lake." "...This academic year is Anthony Rendall's third as head of this school, and he continues to cultivate an atmosphere in which every child is known and celebrated as an individual." #maidwellhall #maidwellcommunity #maidwellhall #maidwellcommunity

  • Having had the fantastic experience of batting and bowling at the Home of Cricket, our 1st and 2nd XI went their separate ways (but not before ‘beatling’ across the iconic zebra crossing on Abbey Road!😉) The 1st XI then played under a blazing sun against a major senior school where they were second best but learned much from their opponents. The next day, they played in a tournament comprising three large London Prep Schools, they won their semi final with a brilliant performance, including a great 50 from one our Form I's. We went on to bowl/field superbly in the final......but were just pipped to the post. The boys regained their strength and morale with a slap up dinner which was walked (partly) off with a stroll in the evening sunshine down Wembley Way. #maidwellhall #maidwellcommunity

Every break time the nets are full of keen cricketers practicing. The friendly competitiveness, team attitude and camaraderie between girls and boys and differing year groups is wonderful to see. All we need now is some more sun for the spectators! ☀🏏

  • Yesterday saw the very first of our Beaver group make their promise at the '1st Maidwell Hall' Beaver Scout group investiture. Our new members made their promise in front of their family, their fellow classmates and some existing Scouting pupils. ''I am very proud of the children to have remembered their promise completely independently, and speak so clearly with confidence....they have been practicing during their weekly meetings, not only what to say but what the word 'promise' actually means'' said their Beaver Scout Leader Fox. Weekly Beaver and Squirrel meetings take place at Maidwell Hall every Monday during Term Time. They are fully involved in very varied activities and work hard towards a variety of badges. #maidwellhall #maidwellcommunity

  • For their first weekend back, our boarders welcomed theatre company 'Laugh Out Loud productions'. The Murder Mystery had a clue-dunnit theme, the 'show' was split into 2 acts, interspersed with an ice cream and birthday cake break! The characters socialised at tables to give the children a chance to pick their brains and pose any questions they had. We clearly have some future detectives on our hands as the actors praised the children on how engaged they were and how thoughtful their questioning was. Well done all! Of course, we have to also mention our wonderful Tuck Shop.....always a highlight of every boarding weekend. 🍭🍬🍫
